Good Reading
In the entire Book of Acts of The Voice Scripture project, the Jerusalem church is forced to expand against its will. This book applies their story to the emerging church of today. It features a retelling of Acts by Brian McLaren and commentary by Chris Seay. Easy to read and unsettlingly applicable to me. I like it.
I've been putting off reading this book for a couple reasons. First, it seems heavy...like not an easy read. I'm ready for the challenge though. Second, I'm sure it's going to challenge the way I live. I guess I'm ready for that too. I'll keep you posted on what I see as I read.
The subtitle of this books is "becoming the kind of person every team wants". Sounds good. Sometimes Maxwell's books are a little monotonous, but I've read some great stuff of his. I think this could be a timely read for me too. I'm working hard, lately, to be a better team player.
My friends, Kurt and Katie, are contributors on this project. If anything, every student ministry should be Jesus-centered. Check this one out. It's good.

Easy Listening
She's one of the lead singers from Hillsong, and now she has a great album of her own. I have a good friend, Audrey Hatcher Woodhams, and Brooke reminds me of her. Good, easy listening.

I got an advance copy of this the other day. There are some great songs on this cd. #1 is the best."
